Forceful Sale of Stove by HP (Hindustan Petroleum) Bhogpur Gas Service in Dalli, Bhogpur, Jalandhar, Punjab

This is regarding the forceful sale of stove by HP (Hindustan Petroleum) Bhogpur Gas Service in Bhogpur, Jalandhar, Punjab

The above news has been published in No. 1 Punjabi Newspaper AJIT on 1st September 2014 on page number 8.

Complaint against Distributor : BHOGPUR GAS SERVICE (13896100)
From HP side communication done by Mr.ASHISH SINGH (192249)

I had booked for a new HP gas connection and was called on Saturday (02/08/2014) as the connection was available. When I visited the company, I was told to buy stove along with other accessories. I humbly mentioned that I already have a stove manufactured as per the industry standards and I would need only the gas connection.

The manager over there informed me that I would get connection only if I buy the stove. When I asked the formal route of getting a connection without stove, they said without verification they will not provide the connection. Here I’ve seen a strange practice of forcing the customers to buy the stove and then making them sign the document mentioning that they were not forced to buy.

If we denied buying the stove, they will not give us the GAS connection & return back all the documents by saying that without verification they cannot provide the gas connection.

IF WE BUY THE STOVE, NO VERIFICATION IS REQUIRED. BUT SAME WILL BE APPLICABLE IF WE DENIED BUYING THE STOVE. This is totally unethical and criminal.

I also noticed the Rude behavior of owner/manager of the agency.

Through the MRTPC notification, HP has clearly mentioned that it is not obligatory to purchase the stove from dealers/distributors. But this is not being followed in Bhogpur Gas Service in Bhogpur, Jalandhar. Such activities are spoiling the name and fame of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited.

For all other facing similar problem, you may please visit below website to log your complaint against any HP distributor across India. Once the complaint has been logged, response is mandatory from HP representative.

Congress vs BJP vs AAP : How Media is Biased ?

Today the 3 major political parties – Congress, BJP and AAP had rallies of Rahul Gandhi, Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal respectively.

While ABP news and NDTV were live telecasting all the three rallies alternatively, Times Now and CNN-IBN were only showing Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi’s rallies.

Even the “Tickr”(scrolling news at the bottom of the channel” on both the channel talks only about Modi and Rahul… Headlines on Tickr show only statements of Rahul and Modi.

Also, I checked the Timeline of Times Now’s Twitter handle @timesnow for last 5 hours. Not a single tweet on Kejriwal’s speech while they have live-tweeted both Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi. Have taken Screenshots of the TL.

I checked the Timeline of CNN-IBN’s Twitter Handle @ibnlive for last 5 hours. They have live-tweeted both Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi. There was only one tweet on Arvind Kejriwal’s rally (that too an anti-Congress statement that AK made).

(Screenshots of Twitter TL are at the end of this blog)

I Called Times Now Office at 02224999944 and spoke to the News desk member. Someone by name Preeti answered my call and she was able yo hear me until I asked the question. Then she started saying “hello.. hello” as if she cant hear me and then hung up… called back again and got connected to some other lady. She refused to reveal her name. When I asked her why they are not showing Kejriwal’s rally, she asked me to send a mail to their mail id “nowdesk@gmail.com” as she is not authorized to answer me.

Then I called CNN-IBN at 01204341818 and I was connected to news room guy Saharsh. He says they have covered Kejriwal’s rally as well and says may be I have missed the braodcast. I asked him for a mail ID where I can send a mail about this. He gave ” Assignment@network18online.com”
I guess we should start questioning these guys on such things to tame them. Its a known fact that these news channels are controlled by corporates that are closely connected to politicians. And as long as we dont question them, they will continue to show the biased news.

I will be sending a mail to the given mail IDs and also, will send a mail to News Broadcasting Association of India.

Until I get a satisfactory answer from them, the channels will be boycotted by me.
Note- I have recorded these calls : https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B7DWrSEAJy5_RVp1YzA0OW1PSFU#

Now Hackers Have Ability to "HACK" Your HEART

Today, fool.com health-care analyst Brenton Flynn looks at the scary reports that hackers may have the ability to remotely "hack" into life-saving medical devices such as pacemakers and insulin pumps and change their settings to deadly levels.
While reports like this make for great sensational headlines, they should be far removed from the investor's psyche. Brenton doesn't think these reports materially affect any company's investment thesis. Instead, in the following video he discusses the true risks for medical-device companies and offers up one company that's designing significantly safer devices.
When it comes to do-or-die businesses, the biotech industry takes the cake. Arena Pharmaceuticals is one recent success story in the industry after gaining FDA approval for its innovative obesity drug. While the future looks bright for Arena, there are still plenty of obstacles ahead. In our brand-new premium research report on Arena Pharmaceuticals, we walk investors through the must-know opportunities and threats facing the company. Suicide on Live TV: Fox News Suicide | Man Carjacked People, Shot at Cops Before Shooting Himself on Live TV

The man whose suicide was broadcast live across the country on Fox News this afternoon had stolen a car in Phoenix and shot at police officers this morning, according to Phoenix police.

Phoenix police Sergeant Tommy Thompson tells New Times that police have not figured out who this man is yet, but police were after him for quite some time.

Someone called police this morning, reporting that a man walking near 72nd Avenue and McDowell Road this morning had hit a car, although it's not clear exactly what he did to that car.

While officers were responding to that, the man somehow managed to rob people of their car -- not the same vehicle he damaged.

Police spotted him shortly after he stole the car, and after chasing the man for a while, police dropped back into "surveillance," Thompson says. Undercover vehicles and helicopters were following him at this point.

Near 44th Avenue and Roosevelt, two officers -- one inside an undercover vehicle, the other standing outside a second undercover vehicle -- were parked off to the side of the road. Thompson says the man drove to the other side of the road and shot at the officers before driving his car onto Interstate 10.

At least one car was hit with a bullet, but the officers themselves were not hit.

By the time the man drove out to around 500th Avenue, he exited the interstate, drove south, and started heading back east.

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith had to apologize on-air Friday afternoon after Fox aired a suicide live on national television. Smith explained there was an error in the network's delay system, which should have given a five-second buffer between any inappropriate footage and the viewing public.

In those five seconds, producers should have been able to turn the feed off and prevent it from reaching viewers. Unfortunately, that delay failed just as a man involved in a high-speed police chase in Arizona shot himself in the head after exiting his vehicle. At the time the unidentified man shot himself, the camera was trained squarely on him and nothing was censored.

Fox News executive VP Michael Clemente issued the following statement to the news media:
We took every precaution to avoid any such live incident by putting the helicopter pictures on a five second delay. Unfortunately, this mistake was the result of a severe human error and we apologize for what viewers ultimately saw on the screen.

CCTNS vs Amarjit Singh OR Rajasthan Police vs Tulip Telecom Ltd ?

CCTNS vs Amarjit Singh OR Rajasthan Police vs Tulip Telecom Ltd ?

These days I am at Jaipur, working as Team Lead Change Management & Capacity Building for Rajasthan Police onCrime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems ( CCTNS ) project. Tulip secured this three-year order worth Rs 48.88 crore from the Rajasthan government under the central government-funded Rajasthan State Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) project.

Crime & Criminals Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) project is a Mission Mode Project under the National e- Governance Plan (NeGP). This is an effort of the Government of India to modernize the police force giving top priority to citizen services, information gathering, and its dissemination among various police organizations and units across the country.

CCTNS aims at creating a comprehensive and integrated system for enhancing the efficiency and effective policing at all levels and especially at the Police Station level through adoption of principles of e-Governance, and creation of a nationwide networked infrastructure for evolution of IT-enabled state- of-the-art tracking system around "investigation of crime and detection of criminals" in real time, which is a critical requirement in the context of the present day internal security scenario.

About CCTNS

Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) is a plan scheme conceived in the light of experience of a non-plan scheme namely - Common Integrated Police Application (CIPA). CCTNS is a Mission Mode Project under the National e-Governance Pan of Govt of India. Tulip Telecom Featured on Forbes: Tulip Telecom – Under the Radar, Over the Top

Tulip's Next Big Bet

Good news and good sense are usually in short supply in the unpredictable world of Indian Telecom.

Courts cancel licenses en masse, balance sheets bleed red from sky high debt, regulators fiddle while the sector burns and most consumers can’t seem to find a mobile connection that lasts through a call.

But far from the madness of it all, behind a long road flanked by concrete-and-glass structures and young technology professionals smoking in small huddles outside them, stands a massive building that may be the best news I’ve seen in a while.

Surrounded by electrified intruder-sensing fencing, recently transplanted palm trees and a phalanx of security guards, it is the Tulip Data City – a massive data center measuring nearly a million square feet, making it Asia’s largest and the world’s third largest. The hulking tower can seat 12,000 server racks and over 1500 people, using up nearly 100 MW of power at peak in the process.

It’s owned by Delhi-headquartered Tulip Telecom, a company that has cannily and progressively moved up the Telecom value chain in India since getting its first big break in 2003 installing wireless radios in Kerala’s Malappuram district. I first wrote about Tulip and Col. H.S Bedi, the retired Army colonel who heads it, two years back.

Back then the surprisingly foresighted Bedi was just beginning to transition Tulip from being primarily a low-bandwidth wireless connectivity provider to a high-bandwidth fiber-optic enabled one.

Bedi’s goal was to introduce his own fiber-optic connectivity first in the central business districts (CBDs) of India’s leading metros, and then the top 100 cities. Doing so would allow Tulip to become a more complete telecom services provider to enterprises, in many cases competing directly with the likes of Bharti, Reliance Infocomm and Tata Teleservices.

When I met him yesterday at his newly inaugurated data center, I asked him how the plan had fared.

“We had initially planned to connect just the CBDs but found the demand so strong that we laid over 20,000 km of fiber-optic covering 300 cities. That gives us the largest intra-city (within a city) fiber network in India,” he said.

From Fiber to Cloud

With the addition of the massive data center, incidentally it’s fifth, Tulip is now attempting to segue into the next higher level of services in Telecom: managed services and data centers.

“Over 75 percent of the Forbes 500 list are now our customers. And many of them don’t want to deal with multiple vendors for connectivity and infrastructure,” says Bedi.

By vendors he means managed infrastructure providers like HCL, Wipro, IBM and HP.

“Because they are not telecom providers, they cannot legally sell bandwidth to customers. So if a customer has to choose either us or them when trying to reduce their vendors, it has to be us,” he says.

The Bangalore data center is Tulip’s Rs.900 crore (that is the amount it is estimated to have spent on it) wildcard entry card into this game.

Through it Tulip plans to offer a suite of infrastructure services like managed services, network security, server hosting and soon, its own cloud offerings.

Analysts expect the third-party data center market in India to grow at a compounded rate of between 25-30 percent over the next five years, thanks to robust demand from virtually all major sectors. Reports also suggest Tulip is expecting a steady state revenue of Rs.950 crore from the data center, which should happen in four years.

Asset-Light, Common-sense Heavy

Though Tulip’s bets appear audacious, in reality they are often conservative and textbook examples of expansion.

“My business model always has been that investments should follow (customer) orders,” says Bedi.

So unlike most of his peers who invest billions of dollars in pursuit of often ephemeral markets, Bedi prefers to line up customers for Tulip’s services before incurring the capital expenditure for the underlying infrastructure.

So it scopes an anchor customer for its connectivity in a new city before spending 1-2 months laying down the fiber-optic that will deliver it. And instead of spending serious money laying inter-city (between cities) fiber-optic, it cannily chose to lease that capacity from other operators thanks to the glut in supply there. In contrast, intra-city fiber is usually in short-supply.

As a result of these moves, Tulip has been able to increase its addressable market tenfold from Rs.1400 crore to Rs.14,000 crore within just 3-4 years.

What is Tulip’s expansion strategy, I ask Col. Bedi. “We prefer to keep learning on the ground while moving forward,” he says.

Google to replace Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha with one of their own

News reports are just hitting the wires that Google will be replacing the CEO of Motorola Mobility once the merger is completed. Big news as many wonder how and if things will change once Google takes charge of one of the biggest hardware manufacturers and patent holders in the mobile market. According to Bloombergthey’ll be replacing the CEO with one of their own. Who is ready for that fully opened and unlocked Motorola DROID Nexus coming this September with Android 5.0 Jelly Bean?

Most likely we wont see a Motorola DROID Nexus with Android Jelly Bean, but I’d like to dream in the meantime. Now for the details. According to Bloomberg once the merger is complete Google will be replacing Motorola Mobility CEO, Sanjay Jha with one of their own big timers. We are hearing Dennis Woodside is in line for the job. Woodside has been the the lead Manager for US Ad Sales for some time and left that position to oversea the Motorola merger.

In case you are confused, Google bought Motorola Mobility to the tune of $12.5 billion and have received approval from U.S. and European Unions on the merger. They still need the thumbs up from China for this deal to be officially complete but with the news today it appears they feel pretty good that everything is a go.

Motorola has been hugely popular and successful with their DROID line and we expect things to continue strong, especially if one of Google’s own are in charge. The original DROID was popular but with locked bootloaders and odd choices lately I’m excited to see what the future holds for Motorola. I’ve always loved their hardware but locked bootloaders and their Blur UI has kept me away for well over a year. As soon as we hear anything confirming the new CEO, or when China approves the deal we’ll be sure to update with additional details.

What do you think this means for Motorola? Are you excited to see what they will bring next to the table?

Enterprise data services company Tulip Telecom bags four orders worth nearly Rs 200 cr

Enterprise data services company Tulip Telecom bags four orders worth nearly Rs 200 cr

NEW DELHI: Enterprise data services company Tulip Telecom today said it has bagged four large network and data centre orders in the public and private sector worth nearly Rs 200 crore.
Tulip secured a three-year order worth Rs 48.88 crore from the Rajasthan government under the central government-funded Rajasthan State Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) project, Tulip Telecom said in a statement.

In addition, it bagged a Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) project in Bihar worth Rs 24.78 crore over a period of five years, besides a connectivity order from Sahara parabanking worth Rs 50 crore.

Furthermore, Tulip has been awarded a five-year, Rs 75 crore data centre order for the new Bangalore facility of a large global telecom major.

"We are happy to partner with the government and private players in our endeavour to build and strengthen the network infrastructure in the nation," Tulip Telecom Chairman and Managing Director H S Bedi said.

The cumulative value of the new orders is Rs 198.66 crore. During Q2, FY'12, the company's total revenues stood at Rs 702.94 crore.

"The order of a data centre for the new Bangalore facility from a large global telecom major is totalling to Rs 75 crore for a period of five years. As of now, the government orders are contributing about 10 per cent in the total revenues of the company, which will grow up to 20-30 per cent in the next two years," Tulip Telecom CEO Sanjay Jain told PTI.

For the CCTNS project in Rajasthan, Tulip will deploy and integrate platforms used by the state and the Centre for tracking criminals, as well as deploy information and communication technology infrastructure at 1,172 locations, including all police stations and higher offices across the state of Rajasthan, the release added.

Under the Bihar R-APDRP project, Tulip will provide data connectivity services (supply, installation and commissioning of internet and other connectivity services) under the guidance of the Ministry of Power.

This is the sixth R-APDRP order bagged by the company, the other five being located in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. The cumulative value of R-APDRP projects being implemented by the firm stands at Rs 250 crore.

Meanwhile, Sahara parabanking, a leading player in the NBFC domain, placed an order for connecting 3,000 of its operational locations within India. The connectivity infrastructure will enable the company to align its go-to-market strategy across India, the release said.

See how Lokpal Bill can curb the politicians, Circulate it to create awareness

Existing System

System Proposed by civil society

No politician or senior officer ever goes to jail despite huge evidence because Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) and CBI directly come under the government. Before starting investigation or prosecution in any case, they have to take permission from the same bosses, against whom the case has to be investigated.

Lokpal at centre and Lokayukta at state level will be independent bodies. ACB and CBI will be merged into these bodies. They will have power to initiate investigations and prosecution against any officer or politician without needing anyone’s permission. Investigation should be completed within 1 year and trial to get over in next 1 year. Within two years, the corrupt should go to jail.

No corrupt officer is dismissed from the job because Central Vigilance Commission, which is supposed to dismiss corrupt officers, is only an advisory body. Whenever it advises government to dismiss any senior corrupt officer, its advice is never implemented.

Lokpal and Lokayukta will have complete powers to order dismissal of a corrupt officer. CVC and all departmental vigilance will be merged into Lokpal and state vigilance will be merged into Lokayukta.

No action is taken against corrupt judges because permission is required from the Chief Justice of India to even register an FIR against corrupt judges.

Lokpal & Lokayukta shall have powers to investigate and prosecute any judge without needing anyone’s permission.

Nowhere to go - People expose corruption but no action is taken on their complaints.

Lokpal & Lokayukta will have to enquire into and hear every complaint.

There is so much corruption within CBI and vigilance departments. Their functioning is so secret that it encourages corruption within these agencies.

All investigations in Lokpal & Lokayukta shall be transparent. After completion of investigation, all case records shall be open to public. Complaint against any staff of Lokpal & Lokayukta shall be enquired and punishment announced within two months.

Weak and corrupt people are appointed as heads of anti-corruption agencies.

Politicians will have absolutely no say in selections of Chairperson and members of Lokpal & Lokayukta. Selections will take place through a transparent and public participatory process.

Citizens face harassment in government offices. Sometimes they are forced to pay bribes. One can only complaint to senior officers. No action is taken on complaints because senior officers also get their cut.

Lokpal & Lokayukta will get public grievances resolved in time bound manner, impose a penalty of Rs 250 per day of delay to be deducted from the salary of guilty officer and award that amount as compensation to the aggrieved citizen.

Nothing in law to recover ill gotten wealth. A corrupt person can come out of jail and enjoy that money.

Loss caused to the government due to corruption will be recovered from all accused.

Small punishment for corruption- Punishment for corruption is minimum 6 months and maximum 7 years.

Enhanced punishment - The punishment would be minimum 5 years and maximum of life imprisonment.

Dear All, Please go through the details carefully & try to be part of this mission against corruption. Things to know about Anna Hazare and Lok pal Bill-:

1.Who is Anna Hazare?

An ex-army man(Unmarried). Fought 1965 Indo-Pak war.

2.What's so special about him?

He built a village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra.

3.This village is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, biofuel and wind mills. In 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India. It has become a model for self-sustained, eco-friendly & harmonic village.

4. This guy, Anna Hazare was awarded Padma Bhushan and is a known figure for his social activities.

5. He is supporting a cause, the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India.

6. How that can be possible?

He is advocating for a Bill, The Lok Pal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), bureaucrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.

7. It's an entirely new thing right..?

In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit their theft (corruption).

8. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time? The first thing he is asking for is: the govt should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed. Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the LOK PAL BILL. 50% government participation and 50% public participation. Bcoz u can't trust the government entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.

9.What will happen when this bill is passed?

A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished.

Osama Bin Laden’s Killers Killed In Helicopter Crash

A total of 38 members of the US special forces, including those responsible for Osama bin Laden’s death, have died in a helicopter crash in eastern Afghanistan along with seven Afghans, a statement from Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s office said.

The helicopter, on a night-raid mission in the Tangi Valley of Wardak province, west of Kabul, was most likely brought down by a rocket-propelled grenade, one coalition official said.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, and they could hardly have found a more valuable target: U.S. officials said 22 of the dead were Navy SEAL commandos from two different special teams, including SEAL Team 6.

Other commandos from that team conducted the raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan, that killed bin Laden in May.

The officials said that those who were killed Saturday were not involved in the Pakistan mission.

image

The crash late today represents the biggest death toll in a single incident for international forces in Afghanistan since the start of the war in 2001.

Seven Afghans were also killed in the crash, the statement said, taking the total death toll in the incident to 38.

The Afghan defense ministry said they were also special forces.

“This helicopter crashed in Wardak province last night, as a result of which including the crew members, 31 personnel of American special forces lost their lives,” the presidential statement said.

“In this incident, seven Afghan forces were also killed.

“The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan expresses his sympathy and deep condolences to US President Barack Obama and the family of the victims.”
